Insurance & Claims Policy
Last Updated: 27/02/2025
Hotshot Towing & Transport works with various insurance providers to offer towing and vehicle recovery services. This policy outlines the process for customers using their insurance to cover our services, as well as our role in handling claims.
1. Insurance-Covered Towing & Recovery
1.1. If your insurance policy includes towing or roadside assistance, Hotshot Towing & Transport may be an approved service provider.
1.2. Before requesting a tow, we recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm coverage, limitations, and any excess fees.
1.3. If required, we can provide an invoice or documentation for reimbursement claims.
2. Customer Responsibilities
2.1. It is the customer’s responsibility to:
- Confirm with their insurer that towing is covered under their policy.
- Provide any necessary claim reference numbers or pre-approvals.
- Pay any excess or fees not covered by their policy.
2.2. If an insurance claim is denied, the customer remains fully responsible for the cost of services provided.
3. Payment & Reimbursement
3.1. Depending on your insurer, payment may be handled in one of two ways:
- Direct Billing: If we have a direct agreement with your insurance provider, we will bill them directly for the service.
- Customer Reimbursement: If direct billing is unavailable, you must pay upfront and seek reimbursement from your insurer.
3.2. We provide detailed invoices and service reports to assist with reimbursement claims.
4. Claims & Disputes
4.1. If your vehicle sustains damage during an insurance-covered tow, you must report it to both your insurance provider and Hotshot Towing & Transport within 24 hours.
4.2. Any claim disputes regarding liability or coverage should be handled directly with your insurer. We will cooperate by providing service records, photographs, and other relevant details.
4.3. Hotshot Towing & Transport is not responsible for claim denials by your insurer.
5. Exclusions
5.1. Insurance coverage may not apply in certain cases, including:
- Towing requested for mechanical failure unrelated to an accident.
- Unapproved or out-of-policy services (e.g., storage, specialty transport).
- Vehicles in unsafe or illegal conditions (e.g., unregistered or abandoned vehicles).
5.2. Customers should refer to their insurance policy for full coverage details.
